Hi Everyone,
I have pain 24/7 too. I live with it and keep going as I do not want pain to control my life, I need to control what I can safely manage to keep as active and as mobile as I can, I go dog walking every day I am a lot slower now but if it takes me longer then who cares.

I have to live like a lot of us with my chronic pain, I have to take strong pain killers just so I can get through the day, I know if I have done too much as I am in a lot of pain when I sit down for the evening, and have to take an extra pain killer just to ease it. If my chronic pain is really bad then it affects all aspects of my illnesses, as I have more than one invisible disability,
The Covid pandemic has not helped one bit, my anxiety/ insecurity has gone bad, I only feel safe in my home where I can lock myself in and be on my own.

@Paris1964 Hi I know what you are going through as I have the same problems, hands is vibrating white finger and spine arthritis or other name give to those area top and bottom of spine hands and back due to my job on building sites. Now have severe arthritis in knees and hips so defo booked in for new knee joints but hips have just started and is worse than the knees and I have that f word illness as well fibromyalgia got diagnosed that 11 years ago and if you find out you have it please do not accept Pregabalin for to help the pain, yes it eases it but you still feel it lighter than normal. I had to come of it thanks to this group pointing out things that happened to me, depression so bad I would cry for no reason, weight gain I was putting weight on even on a slim fast and water diet for a week put half a stone on also swollen abdomen I kept wondering why my t- shirts and polo shirts that were a bit loose on me start risen up over my belly until realised it must have been the abdomen problem as it being from waist to chest since coming of it weight gone down and soon to get a review to come of the antidepressants I was put on so feeling happy as can get new knees sooner with loosing the stone I was asked to but still going for my own target. Good luck and ask to be tested for fibro other symptoms are you feeling tired, a lot sleep pattern all over the shop and fatigued a lot where you feel like not doing anything and don't want to go out. hope all goes well for you and you get the answers you need.

I am never without some pain. Sometimes it’s better than others. I try to take painkillers only when it’s really bad as I could quite easily take them all the time. It gets depressing sometimes though.

I had arthroscopy done in 2010 due to arthiritis, knee bit better but still always pain. Last year hip arthiritis. This year torn meniscus at root, cyst and severe arthiritis. Knee was so swollen didnt go to emergency. Doctor decided I didnt do it at work. (Which I did) I refused tramadol still take cocodamol use brace I sorted out myself. Had some physio but going to have injection in knee hopefully this will work. I have not had one before. Why do they put things down to age I have plenty of things to do yet. Always fighting to be heard. I have only spoken to people on phone til new nhs triage appointment - bouncers of the nhs.

Hello everyone,
How are you today?
No matter the origin, chronic pain can have an impact on one's psyche over time, causing insomnia, depression, anxiety, stress, fatigue, social withdrawal and more.
For those of you living with chronic pain, how has it impacted you? Has your pain had an influence on your mental health? What about your daily life?
Feel free to share and discuss here!
Take care,
Courtney
