I take Levothyroxine for an under active thyroid. I have never found that it has corrected the original symptoms I complained of to my GP.
I sometimes choose not to take my medication because it seems pointless to take a oharmaceutical product that does not appear to be effective.
When my GP reviews my blood results, they can see that I have not been taking my medication and have persuaded me that it is necessary for me to take them.
It is a peculiar situation to be in, I cannot feel the benefits but the GP's say that they can assess the benefits and that my energy levels would be lower, my weight gain would increase and my need for sleep would further increase. I had hoped that the medication would reduce these symptoms or reverse them once my metabolism became balanced but this is not the case.
I take my medication because of the fear that my symptoms would get worse - if there is an alternative effective treatment - dietary or lifestyle change - I would prefer to follow that course.
Thanks,
Happy New Year Everyone :)

The survey only allowed 1 medication to be reviewed. I currently take 7 different meds totalling 26. Not sure what's works n what doesn't because my condition continues to get worse. I'm worried though how much worse I would be with none. I suffer with fibromyalgia and am struggling......

The survey was ok up to a point. The questions were'nt really worded right. You really need a survey for each individual condition. It was too general. Some of my answers did'nt really cover what I wanted to say.

I take Aripiprazole, depakote and sertraline for bipolar disorder. The first survey I undertook was rather generic and difficult to compartmentalize my condition and medication. The second survey, in my opinion, was much easier for me to complete as it was more specific to the problems I face with my condition and medication

I use Seretide 500 and Tiotropium inhalers. I do not know whether it is doing me any good or not. When I ask my doctor what would
happen if I stopped the medication, I never get an answer! Every morning when I wake up (for which I am thankful) I cough and
bring up phlegm (sorry) for a good two hours to clear out my lungs. Now THIS is the most depressing part of COPD. Again, my doctor has no suggestions as to how I might control/reduce this. Perhaps it something I have to live with, but mebbe others on this site may have some ideas?Give your opinion
