@richard0804 Sounds like you love curry! My husband uses Masala as a spice, which makes it far too hot for me. I've never been a lover of curry, no matter what goes in it!
Regarding the flatulence, luckily I don't have that problem with any food I digest. Perhaps another member has a solution?
BBQ is a word I can't get used to here in Northern Ireland. In South Africa we called it a Braai, which was always a great way of socialising and cooking juicy steaks etc. Unfortunately, we haven't yet had the chance to experience a BBQ with the local people.
Keep safe and as healthy as possible.

I have asthma , type 2 diabetes and ulcerative colitis + other problems too many to mention. I have problems eating foods that are recommended for my diabetes but cause problems for my UC so I tend to eat what I know won't upset my UC but are not recommended for diabetes, I bake pies eat homemade bread using plain flour ( stotties ) as I've found bread flour bloats me out but plain flour doesn't. Most fruit is too high in sugar for me to eat and I have reactions to oranges and bananas which doesn't leave me with many fruits that I like to eat. Vegetables are another problem as I've never liked cabbage ,sprouts ,broccoli or any type of onions , can't stand the taste of garlic. So I'm fighting against what's good for me against what I actually like.

I was diagnosed with Coeliac disease, aged 2 years and am now 66. Intolerance of Gluten, a protein found in wheat, oats and barley. Whilst I am used to a Gluten Free diet now, it has been a challenge, particularly as a child! Always willing to share experiences with fellow Coeliac sufferers.

@Mrs E Larkin hi there I was a coeliac from birth but was only diagnosed when I was 49 yrs so having to change my food was a real nightmare, as everything I enjoyed I was not allowed to eat any more so that put a real depressing outcome for me it made me more depressed than I was already, it's been a really uphill struggle, left me with many illnesses on top, I know though if I ate anything I wasn't supposed to then I would become very ill or could even die as with all my life threatening illnesses I don't want to go that way so I stick to what I have been told to eat and hopefully things will be OK as being 70 I have to be very careful with all my life threatening illnesses as I don't want any more added to the list

Left damage from radiotherapy post neck cancer left damage to my saliva glands, damaged tissue alround the throat and neck plus other glands etc. This has left me only able to eat sloopy food as dry food, nuts, rice etc. going the wrong way causing choking and vomating. Together with my diabetes which requires sugar replacements etc. so food is problematic over limited choice. After losing 6 stone in the six weeks of the cancer, I finally achieved my overweight self after a number of years. Now my GP put me the millionaires slimming drug, the injection once a week was refused, the size of the needle a definate no, no. So I am on the tablet version and we will see how that goes after the next six months

It is possible that I suffer from lactose intolerance, like many people, but lactose concentration is reduced in cheese, and almost non-existent in hard cheeses.

Hi everyone,
How are you feeling today?
In this discussion, I'd like you to share your experience with managing food allergies/food intolerances that you have.
Food allergy and food intolerance can cause similar symptoms, but their nature is completely different: an allergy always involves the reaction of the immune system, while food intolerance only affects the digestive system.
Managing food allergies or intolerances may be difficult when you have a chronic illness.
What are you allergic/intolerant to? How did you find out about your allergy/intolerance? How have you been adapting your diet since? Does it interfere with your condition?
You are welcome to share your stories here!
Take care!
