Have any of you been in a similar situation where you had to discuss health issues with your employer? Did you also receive a very negative response? How did you advocate for yourself? How did you navigate the physical challenges?
Let’s support each other by sharing experiences or advice that might help. Remember, you’re not alone in this, and we’re all here to offer support and understanding.
Take care, and I’m wishing you strength and clarity as you navigate this situation.

After thirteen years at my job . I started having pain in my knees and swelling. I work full time and we stand all day, walk about two miles a day minimum and have to carry about 50lbs (even tho the dishwasher glasses rack might be around 30ish lbs) but we run this rack about 35-40 feet down the hall to the fish room and run it back wipe em down and do all the same stuff over again. I’ve noticed only recently my elbow has been popping. As well . I showed HR my note and was wearing a support and she left a message saying “I need to talk to you about this ace wrap thing, cos if this is some kind of disability we do not accommodate that”
and told me to change my note or I can’t work and they would have to fill my position and end my medical.
even told me that, she thinks I got it somewhere else?? I also have developed varicose veins on my upper thigh, which is crazy because I’m 47 years old and everybody’s telling me it’s from too much standing. I also have develop a bunion this year on 1 foot that I considered my pretty foot.. I literally just work. I was shocked when she told me that she thinks I got it somewhere else, like where? In my family, it is not a genetic thing. No one is my family has it or has a history of it. I told her my phone doesn’t take or receive calls so she has to email me so I can have everything she writes on record. I think this job is good for short term, but not something that I should’ve been doing currently it’s been almost 14 years. And we were very busy hotel since there’s only one of us there is little relief. What do you think?
