@Shaun33 We're in the same boat, my friend. I was also recently diagnosed and I've been left high and dry. I don't know what's next and I don't know what the next steps are. I'm also interested in diet, so hopefully someone on here can give us some direction or advice.

I was told back in 2012 that I had fatty liver by the radiologist that done my ultrasound scan, was never told about it by the GP I had back then, so nothing was done about it. I was told again a few months ago, this time I mentioned it to my GP, he told me a little about it but referred me to the appropriate specialist. I'm now waiting for an appointment. Had I been told about it when it was first diagnosed I could of at least tried to do something about it. I desperately need to lose weight but I struggle to stick to any weight loss programme.

Hi Benson 21 my wife is the same Gp hasn't taken the time to explain fatty liver .. passing the buck . If you ask me . Wife has trouble with diet but she eats well the fruit and vegetables not fatty foods . But having to wait for specialists is a disgrace things could be getting worse for all we know will be glad to see the specialist find out how things are ...

I eat healthy, but I do have a sweet tooth. I desperately need to lose weight as I gained a lot before I had my knee replacement as I couldn't excersise. My first GP didn't address the situation at all, it was as though it wasn't there. Before we were in lockdown I knew theyre was going to be a long wait, so it's now going to be even longer. I have read lots of different things and they all say the same, it's just not that easy to lose weight. Oh well I will just have to try harder. I hope your wife gets her appointment quickly.

One of the main complaints of those diagnosed with Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is that the doctor spent little to no time explaining to them their condition, the prognosis, and the plan of care at the appointment where they received their diagnosis or where they were told the findings of the medical studies revealing nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.
What has been your experience? Did you have a similar experience or did your doctor explain to you the condition? The plan of care?
