Hi @gothickmum, thank you for opening this discussion. I'm sorry to hear about your brother, that must be very hard for your and your family to process. Making the decision to forgo or accept treatment is a big one.
Let me tag some of our other members who could share their thoughts with you.
Hi everyone, can any of you share you or your loved one's experience with accepting or refusing treatment? What helped you or them make the decision? What factors did you consider? Can you share any advice?

Hi, My husband has incurable nsclc and has had chemo, radio at the same time. He was very ill with side effects during the last week of treatment and had to be admitted to hospital. We thought he was going to die but he recovered and now on immunotheraphy.
The chemo/radio shrunk his 7cm tumour significantly and immunotheraphy will hopefully keep his tumour asleep for a long time to come. He has only had 2 immunotheraphy treatments so far and is having some side effects.
He has said he wont have more treatment if it means poor quality of life and he would rather have quality for a short time than a longer, miserable quantity. Everyone is different and ultimately has to make their own choices, hard as it may be.
All you can do is be supportive.

Hi
My Brother has just been told he has SCLC.
He has been given 6 months. Its spread from his lung to his liver, pancreas. Small bones and lymph nodes. Spreading since July.
Hes been offered chemo which could expand life by a couple months but he could be ill most of that.
He has until Monday to tell them if he wants the Chemo. Is there any point? Anyone know?
