Hi I'm new to this group, I like quite a few people on here have gone through the tests scans x rays etc only to be told by consultants 'you have IBS, go home' mentally deflated and physically inflated I trudge through daily life feeling frustrated. I suffer from clinical depression and had been on several different medications over a span of 25 yrs, some worked, and I had periods of a manageable life but eventually the side effects were worse than the depression and I opted for no meds at all, brave or stupid, I still don't know, that was 5 yrs ago, and here comes the BUT since then I've developed IBS, I did my research, and linked one of the chemicals that helped my depression to my gut health so I've been searching for answers ever since, I did find a natural health book that helped but it was so expensive to eat all the good stuff that I simply couldn't keep eating it. I'm now 51yrs old, menapausel, bloated, hate food, I go between constipation an diarrhea, often soiling myself cuz I've eaten something I didn't kno went straight through me, embarrassed, depressed and literally at my lowest. Any affordable suggestions would be greatly appreciated ?

I've had IBS for 10 years plus I've tried everything it's a tricky disease to have because everyone is different what helps others might not help yourself,it's trial and error mainly,i suffer with constipation to the point I don't go for ten days at a time and severe bloating,I find fresh mint leaves in water helps with bloating also drainage and eliminate tea bags are good drink plenty of water, massage your colon with lavender essential oil there is a video on you tube showing you a massage techniques and that helped me kept me calm thus giving me movement in my bowel one can only try what people suggest and see if it helps all worth a go hope you get some relief as I know only to well it ruins your life to the point your governed by what your tummy is going to do on a daily basis

Hello all. I have had fibromyalgia and IBS for some years now. I love an outdoors life with camping, but these activities have been quite limited since my diagnosis. First problem is the fibro and the pain it brings, but as for the IBS I am just so paranoid to go anywhere! I tend to have diahrrea and I am very uncomfortable when there is no toilet in sight. I think the problem is mainly mental, since I take Loperamide and it works ok for me. But I still keep thinking "what if".... Does anyone have advice that can relieve the fear? thanks all...
