Hello all,

I haven't been on in a while since I've been busy, but with this coronavirus business I've become a bit worried. Since the virus is so hard on the respiratory system I'm worried that my inhalers (I'm on Ventolin and Qvar) are putting me at a greater risk. Do you think we should cut down our use of them? Especially the Qvar? I've heard that steroids really do a number on the immune system. Does anyone have any thoughts or advice?

I'm on hay-fever tabs and a blue n purple inhalar s and I'm on antibiotics atm for water infection and chest infection thanks fully it wasn't covid-19

@Healthiswealth they would not test me I did ask but when I was admitted to accident and emergency and was told unless I went up to respiratory ward and admitted in there then I wasn’t be all gp and hospital drs said I was symptomatic but still sent me home with antibiotics to treat pneumonia that I then got and told to isolate for another week all in all I done 4 weeks isolation in my room on my own am still not right and it’ was 6 weeks on Monday I first started to feel poorly ( to be told by gp I think you may have had it mild well mild is bad enough for me it has knocked me for 6 I’m still trying to recover my wheeze and breathless being the biggest problem along with nasty cough although they have now opened testing up for caters test is to late for me now so I am waiting to see if I get offered test to see if I have had it or maybe I will ask once these are in use.

I am a carer i also have Asthma I'm on 3 inhalers plus 2 tablets every morning at the moment I'm shielding i am so worried about all this corona virus stuff its getting me down x

I am also Shielding. But decided deal with in positive ways because nothing you can but suck it up and accept government Rules. With this in mind and food delivered by government along with chemist having me on Acute list for prescription delivery all needs I worry about catered for. Despite some foods don’t eat. At time thinking ahead although friends had been shielded was expecting to be? I was constructive and ordered set of weighing scales, Set silicone tongs and fruits and vegetables peelers along with box of vinyl gloves and sets of long kitchen gloves reducing everything touch including post (So many postal personnel off sick despite not contact with public now!) Weights to keep control of weight as live alone. So far working out especially as not a hospital person. Decided experimental internal operation was worth risk and recovery at home. Rather than numerous weeks in hospitals with increased heat to kill germs is not good for asthmatic. Look ahead is way forward.

I have been tested positive for the covid and I have asthma I had pain in my chest and couldn't breathe it definitely made my asthma worse I had a different inhaler and felt so much better work got me tested I'm a carer in a nursing home
