@Courtney_J I've had eczema since I was a child. When I was young it was something I definitely struggled with as other children would often make fun of me or avoid me for it. It was very hard for me emotionally as it was something I couldn't help and there wasn't much I could do to stop it. I would try to cover it with long sleeves or bandages but often that would just irritate it. I still have it today but I've come to accept it in a way. I don't try to hide it anymore, it's just a part of me.

@Courtney_J I've just started having eczema and it's mostly limited to my hands, but sometimes also on my neck. I haven't really wanted to cover it since it's getting warmer and the thought of having anything on it makes me itch. But I haven't lived with this my whole life so I think my perspective isn't the same.

@EcZena I wish I could have your confidence. I get some strange looks with my long sleeves and trousers in summer or when I have bandages covering up my eczema.

So every summer I need to deal with my condition- I want to be outside and wear short dresses and swim suits. Sun exposure isn't the best for my condition, I know, but I still want to live 'normally'
Does anyone else get shy about their spots? I feel like people are always looking at my rash and honestly in the summer there is no good way to hide it. Just wanted to see what other people do to blend in.

@Trvlr1 Hello! So the same as you have had eczema from an early age, at varying degrees over the years. The hot weather doesn't help the condition for sure & with sun exposure I usually burn & then develop prickly heat, so I avoid sitting in the sun for long periods of time & use a high protection suncream. I am very self conscious about my skin because after using steroid creams for a number of years now I can see the difference in the look & texture of the skin regardless of weather I have an eczema flare up also.

My problem is not so much my skin; but, the spasticity happening underneath it.
Personally, I am waiting for the last person on earth to use the word r**'8'**d; then, my congenital cerebral palsy will magically disappear, and I will be able to play the piano.
