Hi Bellabee,
As a point of interest I too had cancer which was the main initial massive weight loss, the chemo and radiography effectively stopped me eating as it was the throat area. But previous to that I completed short sharp shock diets that kept me off injecting for years. I must admit I was considered an exception that I could control the degree of diabetes. New published medical advice has established weight loss can lead to reducing diabetes where you can control the disease. Alas you remain diabetic but diet controlled is a lot better pill popping and injecting yourself if you are lucky. I must admit I hated injecting, providing an important incentive and yes support is still thin on the ground!

I am amazed! Perhaps surgery may have a place but, as the epidemic of diabetes is mimicked by the increase in obesity the cheaper and simpler management would be to use the carrot/stick approach to encourage everyone to eat healthily - by that I mean to eat as a vegan for most days of the week and only consume animal products fairly rarely - just as our distant ancestors did for many centuries as hunter/gatherers. I have seen people lose their type II diabetes by being totally vegan for 3 months!

How Right you are Goose24:) it is much better than Drastic surgrey & would propley cost less! you get help if you are anoxic & so you should, I know a couple of people who are one being a 20 year old girl! but none if you are overweight! it is still an eating disorder!
