@Mrspotter hi Mrspotter. I've come across this myself, but I have found that if I haven't done a bowel movement in a few days, where I would be concerned, I would take a movicol and try to move around more. The fact that you're passing gas looks to me like your bowels haven't fully been affected. I hope my bit of insight helps you,

I have had bowel problems for years but only really linked it to my MS about 5 years ago. After being checked out that there are no other reasons I saw nurses at the bladder and bowel clinic (I am in the UK) and they were really helpful with various medicines and equipment that can be used. I now take Sodium Picosulphate if I have not passed a stool for 5 days and it helps hurry things along, although I will make sure I am near a toilet that day in case it is too quick! One of the many toils we have to put up with ☹️

@Paula11 no, my doc doesnt't think it's something I should worry about and just prescribes laxatives.
What did your MRI scan show?

@Mrspotter I'm still waiting for my appointment, there are delays due to covid-19. I will give update when I have had my scan do and get results.

Hi, I've had issues with my bowels since I was a kid, I've had all sorts of scans and tests and all, and they showed nothing. I'm trying to eat as much fibre as I can, but I have to really force myself, and be careful I don't eat too much gluten or rice, because I get constipated easily if I do, so I limit rice to once a week, for example.
Sorry, I'm not sure this helps you, @Mrspotter , just thought I'd share.

@cwright17 thank you.I haven't thought of moving around more. Now that I think about it, I do lead quite a sedentary life, so it might be the cause, or one of the causes. I wonder why nobody mentioned this to me before.

@Mrspotter I don't know why either. When I was back working, on my feet 8+ hours per shift, I had very regular BMs. Then I went to an office job where I couldn't leave my desk, unless for breaks, and I had to go to A&E one day because I felt a pain in my stomach. The nurse and the Dr there were like, "here's a prescription of movicol, make sure to keep moving where possible." I now try and remember when my last BM was, how many days since then, and if I'm concerned I'll have a dose of movicol. Good luck 💗

Linseed is the best thing ever! I used to go the toilet once a week, I now go every day 🙃
I put it on my all bran every morning and it helps. Try it x

Would anyone be so kind as to give me some advice? I've been having problems with my bowel movements (less frequent) for a while now. I'm on gabapentin, and also have bloating and lots of gaz which apparently is one of the side effects. I've been trying to eat more fibre, drink more water, but it doesn't seem to help.
What can I do other than that? thank you
