Hello @Rodjee! How are you feeling today?
Thank you for starting this discussion! I am very glad to hear that going to church makes you feel better! Personally, I think there is right or wrong when it comes to praying, as long as you put your heart into it. Good luck on your journey! I will tag some members who might want to share their thoughts on this topic.

Hello everyone! How are you doing today?
Do you pray? Do you prefer to do it at home or in the church? How do you do it? How does it make you feel?
Take care,
Polina from the Carenity team

I have been known to pray, I occasionally attend the local church. I believe God is everywhere I will talk to him whenever I need to, he is a good listener.

I go to my local mosque and am required to pray 5 times a day. I pray 4 of my daily prayers at home (pre dawn, before sunset, after sunset and evening) the midday one I pray at the mosque as often as I can.
I feel I can connect with God and the only way to keep up my mood. I do walking and some days to the gym. This helps my mental health but I am often ruminating about the future.

@Sunshine5
Hello,
Lovely to meet you.
I'm a brain tumour survivor = and, as it happens, a lay minister. As you might expect, I attend church every Sunday - and I also pray pretty regularly (!). Sometimes it's easier than others - but mostly I just "natter on" - sort of like having a conversation with my best friend (which is about right in some ways). I sometimes us formal words (like the Lord's prayer or words out of the Bible - from the Psalms maybe) but by no means always. I try to remember the things I'm grateful for, the people I'm worried about for some reason - and why, and the other things that have struck me for one reason or another. And I make time to listen and think as well = because it's not about presenting a "shopping list".
It does help me if I have a notebook and a Bible with me. I rarely pray in bed - because I drop off to sleep (!) - but often in my study or my favourite armchair. Some people I know like to ^mark the time" by lighting a candle. I have restless hands - so sometimes I hold a rosary = although I am not a Catholic. It's a question of what works best for you. In addition, I try to make a point of stopping for a couple of moments between tasks to recall that God is with me and loves me and the people I meet day to day = so I take a moment to commit a situation or a circumstance into His care - and I quite often "idle with Him" when I'm doing chores like floor sweeping and washing up as well.
My particular hate is having MRI scans - so I spend time focusing on His presence with me then especially = I am reminded of that because I have on coming up this week - so forgive me for mentioning it.
In other words, you'll find your own route - but fundamentally, I think, God just loves to hear from us, because He loves us - and there really isn't a "right" or "wrong" way of doing it!
Blessings xx

Hello there. I pray daily. I don't go to church very often though. I prefer to do it in my house. Talk to god as if he is my best friend.

Hello,
I'm new here but from the discussions I've seen, it looks like a very supportive place! I wanted to ask if anyone here prays? I started going to church every Sunday. Even though getting out of bed is hard, I still try to stick to it. I try to pray there and it makes me feel a lot better for some time. Do you pray at home? I don't know how to do that. Do I need to buy something and set up a place? Or? Thank you xx
