I tried several diets but I really struggled to lose weight. Can anyone give me some tips?

My brother had a heart attack last year and the whole family has changed its eating habits. First of all to accomodate my brother, but also to show him that he is not alone in this and more importantly, we all wish to be more aware of our health! We try and eat less carbs, sugars and saturated fats, but we are not fanatic. I can recommend BHF's cookbook - or just google heart healthy recipes, there is loads of inspiration to get.
Another idea could be to consult a dietician, specialized in heart healthy food.

I agree with Pauline, a healthy diet is key and most if you have the support of other people it helps a lot also!

I have had three heart attacks, I have copd, I am trying to gain weight, so any advise please, I am also diabetic, I am on fortisip extra

Fluid retention makes monitoring your weight somewhat problematic but healthy diet for my wife is a 'see food' diet but am persuading her weight loss is useful.

For those who are struggling to lose weight, try Apple Cider Vinegar, 2 teaspoons in a glass of warm water every morning. Works wonders. Burning calories with exercises also helps lose weight as well as strengthens your muscles, especially weight bearing exercises.

I have problem with weight the only diet I've really liked is slimming world but can't afford to go I have diabetes treated with insulin

When it is a matter of not liking the diet or continued weight problem, you have to chose what is more important. Insulin treated Diabetes does not prevent you from healthy eating, as long as you have the required carbs for exchanges in your diet. Exercises also plays a vital role in weight loss. A combination of healthy diet and regular exercises should give you good results in weight loss.
