There are self help books on DBT. A friend of mine bought one of them -The Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Workbook: Matthew McCay. I was
a bit sceptical but she gained quite a lot from it. It wasn't all that expensive either

I have BPD, I personally would rather have a lobotomy than take medication for my condition but that's just a personal preference, tainted by past experiences, and I totally understand why others do/would.
I had intensive psychotherapy for 3 years from the ages of 15-18 and although it helped in some ways, it was basically a waste of time. I've stopped seeking professional help with my BPD because unfortunately, there isn't a lot of help available.
One thing that has made a huge difference over the past year or so, and I would strongly recommend giving it a go and sticking at it, is practicing Mindfulness. I don't depersonalize as much as I used to, and when I do, I can at least recognize that I'm doing it. That's huge progress and something I couldn't achieve through therapy.
Happy to chat further if anyone's interested!

& also - there's a lot of talk about there being 'no cure' for BPD on here. It's so easy to think "yay, I'm screwed for life" when you hear this, but you've got to remember this is soley from a medical perspective. There may be no 'cure' but there are ways of managing and accepting it as part of your life. Peace xx
