Even though I have had both my vaccinations, I refuse to travel I really don't feel safe out there, and with winter on the way we don't know how the virus will react or any other variants due to people going abroad etc, and it thrives in the cold, so will see how it goes over the next few months.

I've just got back from travelling to Surrey where I visited my Mum in an old age home. The flights to and from Heathrow were well controlled, everyone had to wear a mask at all times in the airports and on the aeroplane, otherwise access was denied. Obviously if one was eating or drinking one was allowed to remove their mask for a short while.
Before visiting my Mum, proof of a negative covid lateral flow test had to be given to the old age home on each visit, together with confirmation in writing from the NHS.
It was good to see her after so long, but I remained safe and abided by rules at all times.

My wife and I travelled to Barbados earlier in November. I felt reasonably safe. Numerous checks at the airport before you can check in to get your boarding ticket. Face masks mandatory at the airport and on the aircraft.
I felt Barbados took Covid seriously. Mandatory facemasks when inside a building. Mandatory temp checks and hand sanitizing when entering shops
A mandatory day 2 PCR test on return to the UK.
Theses checks are a mild annoyance but we accept them as the price to pay for travelling abroad

I went out with a friend the other day. Both of us had had to shield previously. We decided to go into a local delicatessen to get a few niceties for New Year...not one person who came in wore a mask and crowded up to us, even though we asked them not to. So no, whilst Joe public is still so blase about the small things like social distancing, face masks, and frequent hand sanitising, I don't trust traveling.

Hate to say it guys but I've travelled on holiday 3 times over the past 2 years, twice to Spain and once to Italy. Felt far, far, far safer in those places than I did when we visited London for example. Everybody was very cautious and did as required with no fuss. Booked another 2 for this year and looking at a third.

Hello everyone,
How are you doing today?
Are you going on holiday this summer? Do you have any concerns about travelling due to the COVID-19 pandemic? Are you going to get vaccinated so you can go on holiday? If you do plan on travelling, are you planning on staying domestic or going abroad?
Feel free to share and exchange in the comments below!
Take care,
Courtney
