Most heart attacks seem to be related to GPs not taking note of high blood pressure and long term effects on patients!

no i do not think so we should read more about what we should do before and after heart attacks we can do more to look after ourselves stop smoking. overeating. to many fast foods to many fish and chips cut out fat and drinking to mich beer . and if you do not feel well see your doctor he would rather see you before you get any heart problems if you get a pain in your left arm in your jaw or back of the neck it is always call 999 forget the doctor they will look after you .

I have an angiogram coming up in October - have made huge lifestyle changes, but still can't get the blood pressure under control.

if you suffer from high blood pressure the doctor should help you find out why it is so high and refer you to a heart specialist they should know how to get it down if the doctor s pills dont work get him to refer you to a specialist if at times feel tht you are not well get yourself to the hospital a and e and they will have more time to look after you

Thank you @david3 - it was the specialist who prescribed the pills in the first place. Unfortunately I was allergic to one lot and the GP has needed to change them. Once they have done the angiogram, they are going to look again at the meds to see if we can get me stabilised.

September 29, 2015 will be the WHD. This day is dedicated to the fight against cardiovascular diseases, which are the main cause of deaths now a days. Indeed, more than 17.3 million people die each year because of CVD.
Our health habits often come from our childhood. This is why we wish to start a challenge: make your kids, nieces, grandchildren, neighbors, etc…. draw good habits of how to take care of their heart.
The idea is simple: make one of your kids draw one of this three good habits:
- Eat balanced (draw an apple, a carrot…)
- Practice sports
- Limit the stress (draw someone practicing yoga, having a nap…)
If not, you can always show your support by just drawing a beautiful heart.
After the drawing is done, you can post it on this discussion.
The more you post on this discussion, the more support will be shown to this cause.
If you have any questions, let me know.
Let the kids start drawing!!!
Best,
Gilda
