I have tried DLA QCC IFR Nurse Assessment for CHC my MP etc etc got told NO NONO. I don,t understand the NHS surely £27 a week for a massage is much cheaper than all the medication they give me but hey ho that,s the way of the world these days ... no common sense!!!

A lengthy survey that was not of use to me.

Hey Lee..Well how can I resist not responding to that..and therin lies the problem, many people who are unwell simply do not have the ability to take matters into their own hands and have no one to represent them and so are left to deteriorate becoming part of the mental health services revolving door often token gesture services...taking matters into your hands firstly requires that you are at least partway clambering out of the very deep hole that depression creates for you.

David Yes I totally agree with you, but what i mean is I have done the medication for 2 and a half years. I have also seen Psychiatrists/Psychologist/Cpn/Outreach workers. All I am trying to say in an uneducated way is if I focused on my strength rather than fighting and relying on everything else it would have saved me years of pians anxiety and the like... Only trying to share and Help deep down..

Beccalou...Are you getting talking therapy alongside your medication if not I think you have to ask why not ..given that it's recognised that this is the most helpful combination.
Lee...Hope you've found a method of dealing with difficulties that sidestep peoples experience of endlessly encountering a revolving door and being made to feel like it's their own fault..when in fact it's entirely down to mental health services inadequacies... I've learned this the hard way and am no longer willing to accept it and so far it's a point of view that's working for me.

Hi I have just completed the survey, I completed it to the best of my ability, but quite a few of the questions weren't tailored towards my disease. I take 47 tablets a day, to try and keep my symptoms at bay. I am monitored regularly by a team of specialised nurses and in between their appointments I attend the consultant.
The main problem I find with some, not all, of my medication is the size. one of the symptoms of my disease is that it affects my swallowing, as it does with many other people with the same disease. The drug companies know this, however they still manufacture large thick tablets. These tablets cannot be dissolved in liquid, they cannot be cut, as they are slow releasing tablets, nor can they be crushed or chewed. So why do they keep manufacturing them when they know patients are quite likely to choke on them. Surely there is an alternative I.e. Liquid form, injection anything other than these oversized tablets. I take mine every three hours and after five years of taking them I dread evert time I have to take them.
