I looked after my disabled husband for 16 years, had to give up everything to do so. The last 3 were 24/7 as his condition deteriorated. He refused all outside help, yet when he died I would have given everything to have him back. It took a year of the blackest depression before I took a step towards rebuilding my life. So I sympathise with you.

Have you contacted your local carers association? They are exactly what they say, support for carers. Also try to find out if you have a community care group in your area. They are great for taking you to medical appointments etc. If there is a local one talk to them. There are help & support groups, the great difficulty is finding them.
