Yes, I have tinnitus!
I have had it on & off, but mostly on now for nearly 2 years. My doctor and consequently a couple of consultants have now confirmed that the tinnitus has been caused by a condition known as MD or Meniere's Disease. My doctor has linked it to an underlying auto-immune condition that I have called ITP which was linked to a previous stroke that I had in 2019. As I have fairly pronounced hearing loss in both ears, consultants are looking at options to try and help me. Some days I barely notice the tinnitus but at other times it can be very loud noises that I hear (mostly buzzing).

Hello everyone,
How are you doing today?
Tinnitus is the perception of sound that does not have an external source, so other people cannot hear it. It is commonly described as a ringing sound, but some people hear other types of sounds, such as roaring or buzzing.
Tinnitus can be caused by: noise exposure, hearing loss, some medications, head or neck injury, or chronic illnesses such as diabetes, migraines, thyroid disorders, and certain autoimmune disorders such as lupus and multiple sclerosis.
Have you experienced Tinnitus? Does it happen frequently? How do you cope with it?
Let's share!
Take care,
Lizzi from the Carenity team
