So to start our daily posts and learn more about our body and be aware of colorectal cancer we leave you here a fact about the colon.
The colon's role is to absorb water from food waste passed through the small intestine and then turn them into stools that are then transmitted to the rectum.
All the Best,
Gilda

Hey guys!
It is good to get a screening, it can save our lives! Todays fact is:
9 out of 10 colorectal cancers that are detected early can be cured. As with many cancers, the chances of recovery are better with early diagnosis.
All the best,
Gilda

And for friday we have a big one, but important so we keep thinking about the importance of screening:
The survival rate at 5 years is of 57%. This means that just over half of people affected are still alive 5 years after diagnosis. That said, this survival rate varies greatly depending on the stage of the disease. When the tumor is superficial, the survival rate at 5 years is of 90%. In contrast, in case of metastasis, survival at 5 years is 5%. Hence the importance of an early diagnosis.
Have a nice day!
