Hi Madnan, I've only just joined and have been reviewing previous posts. I've been piling weight on over the last 12 months, I don't know if it's the pregabalin but my appetite has really increased?

Hi,
I am also new to this thread however I do have the following comments, I hope they help.
I am on 300mg of Pregabalin a day, along with Solpodol, Naproxen, 3 x Imipramine tablets (for sleeping, not depression) and 50mg Diphenhydramine hydrochlorine (sleeping tablet that relaxes your mind not your muscles like traditional ones). I am sleeping better and have a better quality of life, however it has increased my appetite and I have put on weight. I would, until May this year, have said I could live with the trade off for having a better quality of life, however I am now also T2 diabetic, but would I change anything, no, probably not.
I have been on Tramadol and Oramorph. Oramorph did nothing, literally, and I was chugging it life cough syrup, had no problem coming off that. Tramadol, different story. Initially it did help, but the dose had to keep being upped to maintain the effect. Eventually I said no to anymore, the doctor said months to wean off it, I said no and went cold turkey. It was hell, sweats, shakes, tremours, being an absolute bitch to anyone (when I would speak), etc. but I did come out the other side. I would say if you are on Tramadol come off it, the initial effects do not last and then you get addicted.
I hope this gives an insight of my experience, happy to answer any questions, and very interested to know if anyone can recommend any other types of medication that may help.

Hi all, the dreaded not sleeping...it drives me insane. I can easily fall asleep on the chair/sofa for 3 hrs but my bed, oh everything hurts. It has been about 9 weeks now being wide awake at night and it's taking it's toll and making my pain unbearable. I'm really grumpy n irritable during the day now. I bought an A Vogel Dormesan, not nice tasting but it is helping me sleep, as I say not all night but a couple of hours better than nothing.
I read in one if my fms books that we fibro suffers don't go into a deep sleep and our body thinks we have had our quota of sleep when we have only had 2-4 hrs per night. Àargh not good.

I use mcc products sleepy head it’s all natural they are on fb and I find the products brilliant my fav are sleepy head and sun slayer all natural oils I’m also on meds longtec they help to I sleep better in the day I know I shouldn’t but I’m always more sleepy then than night

Lack of sleep, pain, depression. I seem to be in a really bad vicious circle.
I'm on the dreaded gabapentin, cocodamal, slow release tramadol, prednisolone, oramorph, and so much more only to get mild relief. I've tried a tens machine which have helped with the tremors and spasms. Just got myself a weighted blanket and although it doesn't take the pain away, it's very comforting to have that weight all over my body.
I can't do the bath thing as its just to much for me to get underdressed, then in the bath and out and then having to get redressed. If I do have a bath that's me out of action for at least 3 days.
I could go on but just hoping someone could give me some ideas for relief.
I'm up for anything. Stay strong everyone.

I honestly could not tell you the last time I had a nights sleep even as I am writing this I haven't slept at all on Thursday night I only got a few hours sleeping tablets and useless I have tried everything anyone have any suggestions thanks Kate xoxo ♥️♥️♥️♥️

@katie6262 Oh you poor thing, I've been there as well. I don't know if it will help you, but I usually have to listen to something to get my mind off the pain. I try to drink an herbal sleep tea before bed to help me get sleepy, and then I put on an audiobook or podcast that I listen to. I still wake up from time to time during the night, but I think the distraction for my mind without the blue light of a phone or other screen really helps.

I haven't slept properly since the 1960s. It got worse when I was pregnant in 1978, and has been the same ever since. Since my diagnosis with fibromyalgia it's got much worse. I've tried, valerian, passiflora, Kalms, rescue nightie spray, magnesium oil on legs, homeopathy, pillow sprays, lavender, Had beautiful blackout curtains made (£500+), chills pillow, Clarins leg emulsion on restless legs (helpful), and finally I'm trying 5HTP 50mg. Early days, but does not look promising for me. I think my old teddy bear is more comforting. I also sleep in my own room now as I would keep partner awake, plus in the hope that I also could stay asleep. I wish.

How do you lovely people cope with the nightly fight with broken sleep? Is there anything you find that helps?
Such as: medication, alternative medication, baths, Creams, Relaxation techniques, Massage ,ect.
