Hi there, @Neville!
Thank you for starting this discussion. It seems our members might have missed it so far, but it's definitely a fascinating and important topic. And I can understand your concern about antibiotics and their potential role in triggering UC episodes, but it's great to hear you're in reasonable health despite these challenges!
Let's invite other members to weigh in and join the discussion:

Has anyone else heard about this recent study or medical trial involving DNA and antibiotics related to UC and Crohn's disease, or the ongoing 5-year medical trials?
If so, please share any updates or information you have! Let's keep this discussion going and support each other with any experiences or knowledge we can share.
Take care,

I am certain I have not dreamt it but I remember a recent news article about a 'breakthrough' regarding causes of the U C and Crohn's disease. DNA was mentioned and also antibiotics. I am allergic to Amoxicillin so I try to avoid any Antib's where possible. There was also a mention of 5 year medical trials. I am very interested in following this matter, has anyone else heard of this medical trial or even got an update?
I have only had two episodes of UC in 30 years but each time I am convinced Antib's were a major causal factor. I am now 76 years old and in reasonable health.
