For me I find it easier to wear the blue disposable masks you see around. For me they're lighter and easier to breathe through than fabric masks or homemade ones. But if every I feel an attack coming on I make sure to take it off, and I have a card that I downloaded from the Asthma UK site in case someone gives me trouble.

@MrSmith Hello MrSmith, thank you for sharing the tip!
Hi all, how have you been coping with wearing a mask? Are you able to handle it? Do you use an exemption card? Do you have any mask tips or tricks to share with us?

@MrSmith I do the same, I try to wear as much as I can manage for my peace of mind and that of others, but if ever I start having trouble I take it off. I've been wearing homemade masks, I'll have to see if I can get my hands on some of those disposable ones, maybe that will help.

I find wearing a visor is easier and I do not have any breathing problems wearing one. Also, I dont get any problems in the shops wearing one locally. Most people wear masks, so I would look silly not wearing one. The local Tesco's store said I didnt have to with asthma.

As I have asthma one of my local shopkeepers saw with a blue mask on and it was hard to breathe as I prefer to wear a mask incase I cough in a shop or outdoors. Well the shopkeeper said I should try a mask with a filter built in and I did and believe me it works wonders I can actually breathe in This mask .It cost me £5 but believe me it's worth every penny and is fully washable

There are different types of masks. I wear an Octagon one. Designed by an American doctor. I find that the easiest one, the fabric is held away from your face.
i Started doing Chair Yoga a couple of years ago and learned breathing techniques which really help me when I start to get anxious.
I do wear a cotton mask because that is preferable to being hospitalised with Covid. I do limit my trips out as well so I’m not wearing a mask for a long time one thing I’ve discovered is that I have a dry throat after wearing a mask and sometimes a little tickly cough

Yes I tried to wear mine when shopping in Tesco's but very uncomfortable and after a a week or so started to not breath properly when I wore it. I think the thought of having my nose and mouth covered I started to panic which made my breathing worse. I have stopped wearing it now.

I have COPD and don’t wear a mask, but try and socially distance.
what I do wear is a lanyard with mask exempt on it, or you can get sunflower lanyards from the hidden disability website. It certainly stops people giving you evil looks.
