Pain, loss of motor skills...what are your symptoms?

I have 10 vertebrae damaged in my spine. 3 cervical ( neck ) 3 Thoracic ( middle ) and 4 lumbar ( lower back ).  The neck has spinal cord stenosis, ( think of a straw that's got bent and you can't suck through it )...Results with neck problem....severe pain when trying to turn my head and a click sound too, pain and muscle spasms in my shoulders and down my arms. Brain fog, can't lift heavy things like even a frying pan or sometimes a cup of tea. Swollen hands so not able to turn knobs on doors etc, pain in fingers and wrists. The middle bits, pain around the rib cage and sometimes chest area resembling a heart attack. Was taken to hospital last year with suspected heart attack when BP went up to 220/100...now that was a real one, so if you have chest pain do not ignore it please. Lower back symptoms....pain and muscle spasms in buttocks and hips, pain down the legs which sometimes even affects my toes. Can't sit for long or walk more than a few steps, Apart from all that my brain is still active most of the time, proved that by writing a book recently.  Hugs to you all....gently...G

I have 6 problem vertebrae and associated discs with stenosis suffering similar symptoms as Gloria. Mine are the cervical, lumbar and sacrum that are affected. 

Eight years ago I had lumbar decompression surgery which helped that for three years ago but unfortunately the legs mobility and pain are all returning. Epidurals in the Sacrum were carried out last November but the problems are also returning there.

Last July and had decompression surgery to the C5 & C6 vertebrae which did help the pain and movement but had drastic affect to my arms. The left arm use was reduced by 50% and the right arm lost all movement at the shoulder with severe pain. With intense physio and hydrotherapy, the left arm has regained full movement and strength but the right arm had zero improvement. 

Nine months on and after yet another MRI, I had a Barbotage procedure to the right shoulder to remove calcium build up which certainly reduced the pain. Now I'm waiting for a second surgeons opinion on a torn muscle in the rotorcuff area. Secondary to that I am waiting for electronic nerve testing to the C5/C6 nerves because since the neck surgery I have a numb strip all the way down my right arm through to the thumb.

I'm still having to take Tramadol, Amitriptyline and Lyrica for the pain plus other medication for Thyroidism, prostate issues and stomach related problems. This is besides the inhalers for asthma.

I really want to come off this cocktail of drugs so as to use a something like CBD products but that is a whole different discussion to be had. The side effects from all the medication such as constant sweating and brain fog are really getting me down which doesn't help the pain control.

So all in all not much has improved over time which I guess is probably same for most other sufferers with similar problems. 

Hi I started last year around about august 2019 with terrible sciatica in my left leg. I was in such a state with the pain that I accidentally overdosed on Zomorph and liquid morphine coupled with Kapake! 
I ended up delusional and in the hospital under the care of the psychiatric ward! Eventually I was released and sent home after being treat as though I was nothing but a druggy! The pain was so bad I was screaming putting my foot to the floor. Eventually the doctor sent me for an mri scan which showed two slipped discs in my back (lower) and was trapping my sciatic nerve, I was given a regular dose off morphine until the pain finally eased.

i was sent to see an orthodontist who discussed trying me with steroid injection in my spine, I had this done but it only lasted for about 8 wks I ended up going for a follow up appointment to be told an operation was the only way, at this moment in time because of the Coronavirus I’m stuck in limbo but also worrying about this op. 
I am numb down the left side from the top of my left leg to my feet and toes, I also have water work problems along with suffering with my bowels and constant pins and needles.’

Does anyone else suffer with this and has anyone else had the operation on their spine?

The symptoms began around 2008 after a fall through he access hatch to the foundations of my parents house where my late Father was working. I noticed an increased sensitivity and numbness in my feet. At the time I was also under the post operative care of an Endocrine Consultant, I brought it to their attention but blood test showed no abnormality and it was left unchecked. Things continued and subsequently I involuntarily felt a loss of balance in 2011 while getting dressed, I ignored this to my detriment and the following tear had another fall that left me with a broken ankle, It wasn't until late 2015 before going to see my GP about the balance issue and again blood tests showed no diabetes or cancer and was referred to Neurology and an MRI which revealed a bulging Cervical Disc. The decision of the Neurosurgeon was to go the Conservative route and surgery wasn't offered until 2019 by which time my mobility and balance were severely impaired. The surgery was to curtail further deterioration and am now investigating other avenues to restore my issues using vibration and Red Light Therapy.
