What type of psoriasis do you have? Where does it affect you?

I thought I would open this discussion to talk about the different types of psoriasis more generally.

As you know, there are many different types of psoriasis, the three most common being:

• Plaque psoriasis: this is the most common type, affecting up to 80% of patients and appearing as paches of inflamed, itchy and painful skin with scales.
• Inverse psoriasis: this affects around 25% of psoriasis patients and appears as inflamed, deep-red skin that is smoth and not scaly, often on skin folds (underarms, under breasts, genital area, buttocks, etc.)
• Guttate psoriasis: this affects around 8% of psoriasis patients and presents as small, round, red spots of inflammation, often on the legs and torso.

Psoraisis can occur all over the body, but often affects the face, scalp, hands, feet and nails, skin folds and genital area.
