@Courtney_J Hi, I'm Craig. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2016. I had radiotherapy that was successful despite the awful side effects. I've been in remission almost a year now, so it was worthwhile. I was lucky and had a wonderful oncologist and nurses. I hope you are all doing well in these strange times!

@Courtney_J Hi, I just joined this site. I've just been diagnosed and I'm obviously reeling, trying to "process" it. To be honest, I'm scared. I don't know what's going to happen next yet and I'm afraid what this and any treatment is going to do to me physically and also mentally. I'm at the beginning of it all so I don't really know what to expect.

PTaylor, The initial diagnosis does send one reeling. I was diagnose August 2019 and have just completed the Radiotherapy. It has all gone smoothly and I can only send accolades out to NHS , Nursing staff, facilities, Oncologists et al. They are wonderful and they are caring and empathetic. You are not alone.

Hi my experience of prostate problems is long and not too extreme so far as my test results exceeded the NHS target measures however 2 biopsies proved negative, even as an ongoing prostrate patient I am very grateful to my consultant for his continued support at a 6 monthly check. Living with a prostate problem is just another thing to put on my to do list.

Well Said Ziggy. My sentiments entirely. Thanks to the complete Oncology Department and especially the Radio Therapy staff at Oxford Churchill Hospital. My 6 month follow up shows good recovery progress. Sometimes, all it needs is an encouraging chat.
