I was on Avonex for a year, then i started having side effects the main one was the day after i injected (Sunday) i had heavy flu/sickness symptoms then from Tues to Friday fine, then on Saturday i had panic attacks and bad tempered as i knew i had to inject the following day. For this reason i came off it and went on to Tecfidera which is a pill in the morning and one at night and ive had no side effects.

I've been on avonex since Nov 2017. The first two weeks were awful with side effects, the night time following my evening injection was horrendous. I was aching all over with the worst flu like pains ever and constantly shaking. I was also vomiting. However this has eased and the worse I experience now is neck pain and sleeplessness. Some weeks are better than others, I don' know why. At times I wonder if it's all worth it.

Hi everyone,
@stephanyJ , @yvette57 , @shayahstar , @Paula11 , @martin6528 , @Wuddy66
don't forget that we now have a medications unit on Carenity (Give my opinion -> Medications) and that you can find the medications/treatments you've been taking, rate them and give your opinion so that other members could learn from you.
The more members comment on the medications, the more useful this unit will become.
Thank you in advance for your priceless contribution to our patient community.
Kind regards,
Margarita

Hi all, I'm new on this forum and really need some advice. My sister has secondary progressive ms and she's been prescribed Avonex. Could anyone tell me something more about the drug and if you've had a good or bad experience with it, or other treatments, in fact. thanks ! x
