My bf is going through a similar switch just now but in the opposite direction, switching from Mirtazapine to Citalopam. He found Mirtazapine to be quite sedative at first, especially in lower doses. It did help his sleep anxiety issues but didn't help with general anxieties or social anxiety so he decided to switch to a SSRI. It did help with general depression issues. Watch out for the side effect that makes you mega hungry ;)

Just been changed medication after years on 20 to 40 mg of Citalopram to 15mg Mirtazapine. Anyone else made this or similar transition ? What were your feelings about any change in your condition.
