I think it's a good thing. Less paper and besides my GP's handwriting is so terrible even the pharmacists have a hard time of it.

@Zoe1565 Have you had any issues with prescriptions getting lost in the system? This happened to me once at the pharmacy, but I'm not sure if it was a system error or my GP just forgot to send it through.

Not sure about this system as not aware but have been using Boots delivery system for years that operates directly with my GP. Sadly they have now decided to charge us £50 for this service that has always been free. Not only Boots but other Chemist main brands now charge for this service. While now charging for this service there has been no improvement in answering the phone by Boots as it can take days and many phone calls to get your repeats. A great service for the less mobile patients to get their repeat prescriptions, now charged for and get low standards. I wonder if any one else experience such poor service or indeed had good experience?

I too have relied on my local Boots pharmacy for years. However in this digital era I have been offered, online companies wishing to order, prepare and deliver my medication. My GP surgery put a stop to these by refusing to supply, saying this was against their professional code. I carry on ordering from surgery on systems online, transferring order to Boots, who text me for collection by my husband.

Hello members,
The NHS recently announced that in November 2019 it will be rolling out its Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) nationally. With the new system, instead of receiving a paper subscription, patients will be given a unique barcode to be scanned by their pharmacist.
EPS will reduce prescription errors and paper processing and cut down on administrative labour, according to Primary Care Minister Jo Churchill, all while saving the NHS millions of pounds.
Do you think these changes will make accessing your treatments easier? Or does going paperless make you a little nervous?
