I think this is a step too far for current technology ... They should perfect methods of prolonging life by correcting failing body parts before they attempt something like this . What is the prime purpose of this ? to save a persons life ? or to get some surgeon on the front page of some medical journal ? .... I think it has more to do with a scientists ego ... just my opinion :)

If it is because of brain injury, surely working on a brain transplant, rather than a whole head transplant would be the way to go.
