Dental treatment with diabetes

My daughter who is 14 years old is diabetic for more than a year and is experiencing bleeding gums. Her gum bleeds while flossing and eating something and one of her teeth is abscessed so we are planning to get help from one of an emergency dental service in Toronto. But I recently read that there is a connection between bleeding gums and diabetes. Will it be possible to take any kind of dental treatment with diabetes?

I have had major issues with receding and bleeding gums that has been compounded with a period of loss of control of blood sugar levels. Perhaps a closer control of blood sugar levels may help, as certainly I applied recently to my health regime. I have greatly reduced my bleeding but through tight control of blood sugar levels and dieting. Your immune system is greatly reduced by diabetes, so susceptible to infections that cause gum disease. Regular checks by your dentist and hygienist is essential together with high levels of dental hygiene will help. But controlling your blood sugar levels alongside high level dental care is the only real answer.
