In the beginning I thought I wasn't supposed to eat carbs, because of the diabetes, but then I talked to a dietitian, which really helped me to find a good balance in my diet. And I found out that I should eat carbs! I definitely recommend a dietitian to help you.
The diabetes is still quite new for me, so I am always alert. Eg. taking really good care of my feet, since I know that problems with the feet is a common side effect with diabetes. Does anyone have tips for keeping their feet healthy?

I have stopped smoking and I am very aware of my diet. I find that travelling has become a little more difficult, especially because I love travelling in remote areas where I am not sure what I can get to eat. So now I tend to take the "safe choices" of staying in cities and hotels with a good selection of foods.

Diet and sport are key for me. I find that it is easier to manage my diabetes when I make sure to exercise. Of course I have to think about how much and when to do it. I think the biggest precaution I have taken is to be more organized with my food and fitness.

Have always been pretty healthy in my life. No smoking, no exessive drinking, healthy eating, lots of sport. So I haven't really changed much. Now I just have to be aware of what I eat compared to my exercise level. But I have been doing this for so long that I have a pretty good idea of how to eat when exercising.

I found this the other day and I think it really portraits well what we go through the moment we wake up :D
Cheers
