Hi kelly
It is too bad to hear that you feel out of control. It can happen, but I must say that I don't let my diabetes control me anymore. I have created a routine to measure my sugar levels and eat what I need to in every moment. It also took me a while to identiy the food that helps me and to research which is the best but now that I have it under control it is great. I know what to eat and what not to do like stress. I also do my excersice and never ever miss out on that. So I think it is just a question of habits and discipline and that you convince yourself that that is what you need and will help.

Hi!
Know I am trying a new diet of oatmeal, spinach, brocoli and salmon. It is not the only thing I eat but it constitutes a big part of my diet now, and you can't imagine how much it has helped me to keep my sugar levels right.

I am sorry that you have been experiencing such problems Kelly, I have been a type 1 since I was 25 years old, and the main problem I have is that I don't get any warning signs of impending hypo's, which means I often keel over! I find eating carbohydrate is essential for me - without them I literally hypo all the time!

Hi. I became diabetic while when having treatmen for melanoma cancer. It was suggested that I try out a new treatment and had 4 sessions, that did not work. So it was another treatment was suggested and, as the first one was quite strait forward I though 'why not' unfortunatly this one brought on the diabetes. I had an terrible time until it was discovered it was type 1. So I am now insulin dependant. I find it very hard to combine the injections with with food I eat. I am getting a lot of help from a clinic but every so often I go haywire and cannot remember which way the sugar readings and the insulin react. I have been told this takes a while to get right and I am rying to get my head round it. Any ideas to help please.
