Hi Margarita,
I had a heart attack in 2009 at that time I was smoking 30 + cigs a day. Before I was left home the heart surgeon advised me to give up the fags. The first thing is to clear all ash trays from your home & make your home a smoke free home which I did. At that time my wife, son & daughter were all smokers. If they wanted a cig they would have to go outside to smoke & they did. When my family & friends call to see I would explain that my home is now smoke free, they all accepted that. So today my wife & daughter are non smokers my son was off them for a bit but now back on them.
Will power & understanding from family & friends helped me give them up.
Regards,
Frank

Hello everybody,
I'd like to propose today the subject of smoking. It's a well-known fact that smoking aggravates your COPD symptoms, and once you are diagnosed with COPD, it is essential that you quit smoking and try to avoid being in the company of people who smoke.
There are many options available to help you quit smoking, such as gums, patches and prescription medicine. How did you personally stop smoking? What helped you to succeed?
Don't hesitate to share your experience, remember that you can help other people achieve what you yourself have achieved!
Thank you all in advance.
Margarita
