My grandaughter gets married in dec so this is quite worrying for them and us as this lockdown is getting on my nerves now I feel like that it will never end ,people are annoying me as some are not sticking to the rules ,but I know when we do how do we know it will be ok to many people dying I'm feeling so sad for there families and friends, I have lost family and friends to this but couldn't go to there funerals or go see them it is so upsetting, surely they could find a cure before now they managed to find one for swine flu epidemic ,I had the pneumonia injection, and the flu injection I just wonder if that has helped some people, I know our country will be on its knees ,soon there wont be anything in the world left it's such a worrying time, Tuesday I'm having to have a telephone assessment, with capita to keep my benefits, I sent all the forms I filled in ,and all my medication prescription, just dont understand why I have to go through all this yet again everything so far has impacting on my mental health my PTSD low moods depression and anxiety is literally rocketing nothing in my life seems good, my health is terrible but nobody in authority gives a dam ,as long as they are ok it doesnt matter about us my birthday is soon and I'm not even looking forward to that ,I'm not well and I havent had one phone call from any of my kids to see how I am I'm really fed up with everything. @berylcook41 @Tigger.co.uk Hello berylcook41 and Tigger.co.uk, thank you for starting and participating in this discussion. I think many of us are wondering the same thing. I believe the current strategy is so "follow the numbers," or try to track as best we can the numbers of cases and new infections. When those numbers seem to be in a regular decline and the NHS is in a good place (in terms of stocks of PPE, oxygen, numbers of available beds) and is not likely to be overwhelmed, the Government is supposed to begin easing measures in stages.
We started a general discussion recently where we're talking about the current measures and the plans for the future, I'll link it here for you:
Coronavirus: What we know about the end of the lockdown!
If we all continue to respect the measures in place, hopefully we will be able to enter the next phase of the end of the lockdown without provoking a second wave.
Hello members, what do you think? Do you think the lockdown will be over by Christmas? Is everyone respecting the measures enough to do so?

@Courtney_J I of course certainly hope that it will be over by then, but I'm definitely worried that we're rushing it a bit and that people aren't taking it seriously and that they won't if the shops and things start reopening.

I think they should prioritise people wearing masks till this ends properly a lot of people are just ignoring the guidelines, maybe if the made it compulsory, they would have to wear them especially children when they go back to school ,the other countries wear masks and so do there children that are already at schools, many years ago we used to have desks behind each other so why cant they do that now Tigger

I understand this so well, we're in between a rock and a hard place. We all want things to go back to normal but the won't ever get there if we don't take things slow and do things properly. I agree @Tigger.co.uk I think masks should be obligatory. My cousin lives in France and she was telling me that some shops won't let you in unless you have a mask and the children at school have to wear them. Hopefully people will take this seriously and you'll be having that Christmas dinner @berylcook41 xx
