I had a breast biopsy in October 2009. During the medical examination, you are given local anaesthesia. I can't say it was pain free, but it wasn't horrible.

I had two breast biopsies, both in July 2017. The first one was done under an ultrasound. My breast was injected with local anesetic first which meant that I didn't feel anything. The second was more indepth (stereotactic) and was done under a mammogram. Again it didn't hurt however it was very unpleasant. I was sore and bruised after both but things cleared up fairly quickly (about 2 weeks). It is important to have these biopsies done. I discovered I had early stages of invasive cancer which had been caught early enough to fully treat. I feel very lucky. I lost my breast (full mastectomy) but it is a small price to pay! Take care!
