@Denisecj1972 hi I would speak to your gp about your concerns and see if they can sign you off, it's not worth affecting your mental health if you are worried. A lot of us are in the same boat it seems🤷♀️ I still got a letter despite my gp telling me I would qualify for one. I live alone and had no help for all the government care 🤦♀️ but definitely talk to your gp and remeber its better being safe than sorry. Take care xx

@Elizabethcrane there is a set criteria for which asthmatics get a letter and which don't, I havnt had one despite fulfilling the criteria so 🤷♀️. If ur worried talk to your gp. Stay safe x

@lizwbrown its so confusing isn't and scary. Like you I've had a bad chest since November, i have been on antibiotics twice and had a chest x-ray which came back ok, i lost my voice for 3 more than 3 weeks i was then put on a antibiotics that i have never been on before, my voixe is back but still husky. My advice for with you having Copd too would be to self isolate as long as you can.
Take care of yourself and stay safe xx

hi i had to come home from work two weeks ago, i was really struggling to get my breath and my ventolin didnt help much. I rang my doctors who asked me where and why was i working when my asthma is as bad as it was as i take fostair 100/6 and montelukast, im also diabetic. I was prescribed prednisolone, only two weeks before i was priscribed doxycycline for a chest infection, so i am now self isolating. I rang my doctors up a few days ago as work was asking for a letter as to say i should of recieved a sheiding letter, but apparently because ive not been in hospital with with asthma and my diabetes is under control then i dont need sheilding, so i dont need a sheilding letter, but give them my medical records to prove i have asthma etc. is this right?
