I do think this pandemic will get worse before it gets better. I understand that people want to see family at Christmas but many will abuse the guidelines and do as they like. I saw my daughter on Christmas day but that was all, I couldn't see my other daughter which was awful, but as they say they would rather us be safe than sorry. I can't wait till we get the vaccine as I won't feel safe till then

My family are all spread apart in different countries, so my husband and I spent Christmas Day alone with my dog, Rhodie.
We had a quiet lunch (prawns) which was lovely, but we in Northern Ireland enter another six-week lockdown today, Boxing Day 26th December 2020. Bare necessities once again, i.e. grocery shopping, collection of medication etc., an essential visit to the vulnerable, is all that's allowed and a curfew from 8.00 p.m. for the first week.
I have no problem abiding by the lockdown, as I would rather stay safe and healthy at home, than face the crowds in the city. I just hope many others will follow suit and not spoil the New Year for those being responsible.

@Courtney_J We had a COVID case in my family so we made the decision to not see one another for Christmas and New Years. It was a bit sad and lonely this Christmas, but it was worth it in the long run if it means that we'll be able to see one another next year. I hope that all the lockdown and vaccination efforts will prove worthwhile and we'll avoid a third wave. But I guess we just have to wait and see, don't we?

Hello everyone,
How are you today?
Many of us in the UK want to turn the page and join together as a family to celebrate the festive season. But it's important that we not lose sight of what we already know: as we transition once again out of lockdown, a resurgence of infections is certain. A large portion of the population has not yet been exposed to COVID-19 and the vaccination campaign has only just gotten underway.
What do you think about this? Do you think we're taking the right steps and making enough effort to slow the spread as the Christmas holidays approach? Do you think that celebrating Christmas and the New Year is risky this year?
Feel free to share any thoughts with us in the comments below!
Take care,
Courtney
