I have had help and support from friends and a faraway( distance) family member who I opened up to, ( MH.) I feel relatively stable but there are always dark thoughts lurking in the back of my mind and it doesn't take much for them to become more prominent when I'm going through a bad patch. I'm thankful to local MH services for contact details of crisis teams etc, should the situation become desperate. I have been afraid of acting spontaneously and those thoughts come and go but I look for distractions even during meltdowns.

@SP3RDN4 - More often than not, these acts are more blunder than they are a blessing. Much of this is because social media has completely ruined the meaning of the word "friend".
We need to learn how to differentiate between acquaintances and friends.
True friends are very, very rare.

I'm struggling to get my head around what you say about true friends and acquaintnces. I have met friends in person as well as those who like to think they're ' friends .' I don't engage much with social media, it all seems very superficial to me, so I bypass all the crap I've heard about it. I've always been introverted, so to open up has been somewhat difficult. I can be more open with some more than others and they have taken time to listen, as I have them. Of course, there are those who get in touch when they want something, that makes me wary and suspicious.
