@VICKICOFFEY Iโm fortunate,I drive and mobile at 81 but for some itโs disheartening , to be unable to go out without asking someone .

@VICKICOFFEY - It has been half a century since The Iron Lady said: "Eventually, you will run out of other people's money."; and the proletariat ha not learned a thing.

At the moment, I am unable to access either train station in my hometown. This is because there are stairs going down to the platforms at one station, and the other has a stepped slope to the platform on one side, but sloped on the other side. The station with the stairs is my closest station, and there is currently a lift being installed. However, but to weather, this has stalled. It was meant to be installed by 2019 (if I remember correctly), but Northern Rail has taken its time to listen to disabled passengers.

@VICKICOFFEY it is horrible! And I don't know what the UK version is, but there's means to contact businesses regarding stuff like this. I emailed my council about dropping a kerb at the end of my street, and they got that sorted quickly.
I think that many of us in wheelchairs have complained to the rail service (ones like Northern Rail) to get it into their thick skulls ๐ค I know the buses in the UK are able to drop a ramp, which makes it easier, and staff on trains have ramps they can put on. It's like the other week; me and my husband went to a KFC, and the disabled toilet wasn't accessible by yourself. So, I complained to the company, and they've got in contact with the store's manager to get it sorted. Thankfully, I'm able to use my stick to get up and down stairs while my husband carries my wheelchair.

@cwright17 I am so sorry the people that be dont have more sympathy and compassion for those of you in wheelchairs. YOU shouldnt have to make sacrifices for their ignorance. Keep complaining!! The squeaky wheel gets the oil!!! Good luck!
Try contacting: In the UK, ย 'Equality Act 2010' is the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)'sย equivalent, mandating accessibility requirements for disabled individuals,

@VICKICOFFEY Ah! I forgot about that one ๐ซฃ why did that not come to mind ๐
And they don't! I've had to tell people what they'd think if it was a loved one in that situation. The amount of times they'd eventually get some done ๐๐

@VICKICOFFEY yes in Uk , the companies donโt make a profit as not enough people use the transport at those times unfortunately .

In Texas: we don't believe in; evolution, convenience voting, gun control or public transportation.
I am proud to say, this year, my late wife's, "Personal Transportation Cruiser", reaches 25 years on the road.

Accessibility on public transport is, to be honest, very good on the TfL network in London, while step-free access in Paris is almost non-existant...

Hey everyone!
How's it going? ๐
Navigating public transport in the UK can be a challenge, especially for those with mobility issues or invisible disabilities. Despite improvements, stories of inaccessible stations, untrained staff, or unhelpful systems are still common.
๐ฌ Whatโs your experience?
Letโs discuss how the system could be more inclusive for everyone!
๐ Looking forward to your thoughts,
Somya from the Carenity Team ๐ผ
