Oh my goodness - looks like I’m the first to leave a comment; I think this is the first time I’ve experienced this but there’s always going to be a first time for everything?I think I’d tell the pre-teen & teenager I was many, many years ago is:Don’t ever think that the life you have & think you’ll have in the future will ever change because change(s) are inevitable! Anything & everything is possible and you may discover that whatever these innumerable changes bring to your life, keep an open mind. More than likely, you’ll have both good & bad times BUT you’ll get through every one of these! Please choose to use these opportunities to keep growing, as the unique person you are, to hopefully keep becoming a better version of yourself.

Society is changing so much and quite different from my own experience that I could not offer advice as it has changed so much!

I handled payment disputes for the largest mortgage company in Texas and my most frequent advice, for defaulted mortgagors, was: "You work as much as you can, as often as you can, for as long as you can. It is much easier explaining to the family why they are doing without you, instead of doing without everything else."

@nuskap - In today's world of reductionism, it has everything to do with every subject.

@LifeDelineator I reiterate 'That has nothing to do with the subject.'

Start saving for retirement early, AND be kinder to your body! (All those years of athletics were hard on my joints/back.)

I would tell myself to take up the offer of counselling as soon as you feel able to it's the longer you leave it the more difficult it becomes to find the right type of counselling via the NHS.
