How are you feeling today?

As patients reliant on the NHS for treatment and care, we often find ourselves in a tough position due to extended waiting periods for consultations, treatments, and surgeries. It is one of the most publicized issues facing the NHS, and can be attributed to a variety of factors, including staffing shortages, high demand for services, and limited resources. The situation is worsened by high levels of burnout among healthcare professionals, driven by long hours, high pressure, and the emotional toll of patient care.

For patients, these delays can be frustrating and, in some cases, worsen our conditions, leading to increased pain, anxiety, and uncertainty about our health future. Additionally, the stress of waiting for medical care can affect our mental health, relationships, and quality of life.

@Somya.P Well it is destined to get worse over the next few years as 7.5 Birmingham Cities are due on our shores. My wife's cataracts took 12 months for the first eye, although urgent her second will no doubt take as long. Should we get seriously ill I expect they will refuse treatment and let us die as they did for my Dad did a few years ago. I do worry about the public thirst for a 'Digitas policy' starting as the state always abuse new Laws and regulation. It is a worry that tens of thousands of cancer patients will die do to NHS failures, I suppose I can consider myself lucky having cancer some years ago. Just seeing my GP is a challange as they moved from phone calls to online, my wife has little hope with these new methods!

Any procedures I have had, haven't been urgent. I don't stress or worry, so they haven't really impacted on my health or mental welfare. Some people exaggerate problems by being unreasonable.

I cannot fault the NHS and have always been treated with care, kindness, respect and efficiency.

I'm on the waiting list for a few health issues, but it doesn't upset me knowing I have to wait my turn. Obviously, we'd all love to have shorter waiting lists but I know I'll be attended to in the end.
