Tried various experiments in this area post cancer as eating pure meat without some manufactured process is impossible for me with no saliva glands. So, have experimented with extra veg and a mainly frying or baking approach to veg, boiled is simply tasteless. But have to say veg is so boring without meat, I always have a little meat to add flavour. So, really a semi move to increasing veg in my diet, all vegan tastes absolutely horrible, even various sauces etc. can't improve the flavour. Vegan meat is a joke but sadly many foods are changing these days by government command that even make the staple food we enjoyed in the past taste awful, pass me the salt and pepper!

I have tried plant base foods but not impressed. I have meat replacement foods such as bean/lentils once a week. I also have Avocado meal once or more a week, this helps to regulate my weight and bowels.

I will never change to a vegan or vegetarian diet. From living in Africa for 60 years, I am too used to meat although must admit, the meat here in Northern Ireland definitely does not taste the same.

I have about 5 vegetarian meals a week. I eat a lot of fish and one poultry meal and three meat meals a week. My daughter worked as a chef serving all vegan meals. She said that you have to take vitamin and iron tablet supplements. She prefers to cook and eat a varied balanced diet.

Hello everyone,
How are you all doing today? 😊
A plant-based, vegan, or vegetarian diet can offer several benefits to people living with chronic illnesses, such as a lower risk of heart disease and certain cancers due to weight management. These diets are also typically higher in fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants, promoting overall health.
At the same time, potential disadvantages include a risk of deficiencies of vitamin B12, iron, and protein. Some people may also find it challenging to maintain a well-balanced diet, and social or cultural factors can limit food choices.
