I have not had the opportunity to see an osteopath. I have osteoarthritis in the hands, knees, and neck. At the moment painkillers are helping.

I saw an osteopath but it didn't work too good for me. Preferred acupuncture.

@Courtney_J No I have never seen one and don't intend to. My condition means that I have several discs bulging, not a great idea to see an osteopath, I could end up paraplegic!

The only time I saw an Osteopath was way back around 1978 when I developed every excruciating symptom of trigeminal neuralgia (this was actually the beginning of my unrecognised MS). I had heard of an Osteopath/Acupuncturist with an astounding reputation so thought this "worth a go". After he performed a comprehensive examination/assessment, he diagnosed my problem emanated from my neck being "out of alignment" (it was only a few years later that an x-ray showed early signs of osteoarthritis-my maternal Nan, Mum, Auntie & female cousin also shared this). He first "cracked my neck", on both sides - resulting in sounding like the treatment couch, I was lying on, had broke! He then placed numerous acupuncture needles in various places. This initial treatment DID have a positive effect, the second time he performed both these procedures, the following week, certainly ENHANCED this positive effect. After about 6 weeks/treatments, my agonising neuralgia "disappeared" as quickly as it came! Whether this was "coincidental" I can't be sure, neither can I be certain if it was his "manipulation(s)" or the acupuncture that resolved my trigeminal neuralgia BUT strongly believe osteopathy is "worth trying" x

Hello,
How have you been doing?
As you can tell from the title of this discussion, today I'd like to talk about osteopathy. Some say, it can help with quite a lot of "minor" health problems, such as headaches, digestive disorders, sleep issues, posture problems, back pain, and other aches and pains.
Have you already seen an osteopath for any of these, or any other problems? Was it helpful? How many sessions did you have?
Thanks in advance for sharing!
Take care,
Courtney
