I find it hard to be happy sometimes as my mental health takes over periodically. I write in my diary every day but it doesn't stop my depression taking over my happiness. I try and get out in the fresh air to clear my head but sometimes that doesn't work.

@chrissie2018 Hi,
Thank you for sharing how you’ve been feeling—it takes courage to open up like this. 💙 Writing in a diary and getting out in the fresh air sound like really positive steps, even if they don’t always feel like they’re helping in the moment. It’s clear you’re trying hard to manage those tough days, and that’s something to be proud of.
Sometimes, even with our best efforts, it’s hard to shake the hold mental health can have. Many people in our community can relate to this. You’re definitely not alone.
- Have you found writing in your diary helps you process certain thoughts or emotions?
- Are there other activities or routines, no matter how small, that give you moments of calm or comfort?
- How do you approach those particularly hard days when nothing seems to help?
Sharing your experiences and strategies might inspire others here, and who knows, you might find new ideas to try as well. 😊
Take care, and remember this community is here to support you. 💕
Warm regards,
Somya from the Carenity Team 🌷

Hello everyone,
How are we feeling today? 😊
Can happiness be something we learn, like any other skill? It might sound surprising, but research says yes!
A study from the University of Bristol led by Dr. Bruce Hood found that much like physical health, mental well-being requires regular effort and practice. The idea is that small, positive habits, like expressing gratitude, practising kindness, or spending time with loved ones, can drastically improve our mood and overall happiness. 🌞
These habits aren’t magic fixes but rather small steps that help reduce negative thinking and stress over time. Something as simple as a daily walk in nature or taking a moment to reflect on the good in your life can brighten your day. On the flip side, the study highlights that excessive screen time or prolonged inactivity can negatively affect mental health.
Sustainable happiness is often found in consistency: continuing these small, meaningful actions over months or years can lead to lasting benefits. Meditation, volunteering, or even just writing down what you're grateful for can gradually shift your outlook.
What are some habits or daily actions you’ve adopted to bring more happiness into your life?
How do you personally define happiness, and what little things brighten your day?
