To be honest I’ve only lived in Bath / Greater London, and I never really had any problems accessing fruits & veg, just not very tasty fruit & veg 😂

@gmorlet - Because the U.S. has twenty states larger than all of England, food desserts, which is an emotion based description by alphabet whiners, would seem to be rather rare for the U.K.
Is this type of language manipulation common in the British Empire?

A growing problem in Lawless Britain which will only increase. Shoplifting is epidemic now the Police have walked away and no Police/courts will do anything unless it is over £99. So the local corner shops and supermarkets stand no chance. Taking over is home deliveries where you can items delivered to your door in an hour.
America is seeing many areas the big supermarkets are pulling out due to theft and shoplifting, small shops just about hanging on.
Deserts will be the inner city norms for shops, the City centres are dead so clearly home delivery will be the number one option.
Most of our food is delivered to our home without problems, all supermarkets do it. The small shops also solved with the small fast home delivery under an hour. So for us crips etc. have no real issues, even 'meals on wheels' if we don't want to cook or can't cook.

@robjmckinney - As if food prices aren't high enough already, do those deliveries require an additional fee? So far, in Texas, grocery theft does not seem to be worth the risk; especially, with concealed carry on the increase.

Texan: My neighborhood retailer closed. I am mildly inconvenienced.
Alphabet whiner: My neighborhood retailer closed. This is discrimination.

@nikki77 - Why is it: Juneau is the capitol of, by far, the largest state in the union; but, servings of Baked Alaska are extremely small?

@nikki77 - It is sad you are from an era unable to recognize any play on words, regardless of its impetus, can be a source of enjoyment. Even in Oklahoma, it can be appreciated.

Hello everyone,
How are you doing today?
In the UK, over a million residents live in food deserts, which are areas where poverty, lack of transportation, and a scarcity of supermarkets make accessing fresh and affordable food difficult. 🍎🥦 Residents in deprived urban neighbourhoods or rural areas may rely on expensive corner shops or fast food, leading to poor diets and health concerns like obesity and diabetes. For those with limited mobility or on a tight budget, the challenge is even greater.
Have you experienced living in a food desert, or know someone who has? What challenges have you noticed when trying to access healthy food?
