International Epilepsy Day (February 13th) is a special event which promotes awareness of epilepsy in more than 120 countries each year. Every year on the second Monday of February people join together to highlight the problems faced by people with epilepsy, their families and carers.
This is a day for everyone, no matter where you are, no matter how small your group or large your area, no matter whether you focus on the medical or the social aspects of the disease. We want you to help us celebrate International Epilepsy Day! Let’s speak with one global voice.
The Day is a joint initiative by the International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE) and the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE).
How can you get involved?
1. Artistic Waves #EpilepsyDay Art Competition
To celebrate International Epilepsy Day 2017, we ran international art competition with the theme ‘Putting Epilepsy in the Picture’. View the gallery of artwork submitted.
2. Send Us Your #EpilepsyDay Selfies
Show the world how you celebrate #EpilepsyDay! Send us your selfies and pics and we’ll post them on the official website Selfie Wall and our social media pages.
3. Attend an #EpilepsyDay Event
Attend one of the many #EpilepsyDayEvents happening around the globe!
4. Make a donation
Contribute to the advancement of research in the field of Eplilepsy and to spreading awareness of this condition.
If you know about any events happening in your area, please share them with others so that they could also participate.
We also invite you to share your stories about life with Epilepsy in form of a written interview. If you wish to learn more about how it happens, please visit our testimonials page or contact me
