This what we have holidays for but there are jobs like self-employed who can't always enjoy time off. Perhaps relief comes in the type of work you do and whether you enjoy it. So simply choose wisely and enjoy you work, for those who can't, enjoy your holidays. I wonder if these people who can't take stresses are the types of person who suffer to easily from stress in life, are we breeding a weaker society!

In my opinion, burnout occurs when you are NOT excited about getting up and going to work. It's more of a chore than an enjoyment. I am retired, but when I was working, I absolutely LOVED my job, and neve experienced burnout. Guess I was one of the lucky ones!

I was diagnosed many years ago as "having a most severe emotional block to learning and performing normal work tasks", so in a sense I have had "burn out" for a long time, but I muddle through life, doing my chores as best I can. I was forcibly early retired from work 35 years ago, but I did not like the job. I think it is best just to try and my best and accept the limitations that will influence the result.

I'm the same . Supposedly a bright kid but fluffed all my exams . Find it hard to do anything artistic or even skilled with my hands which over the years left me working hard carrying bricks + mortar all day for bricklayers. Yet left alone I could lay bricks . Not skilled manually with a low self esteem is inevitable.
At school I was disruptive probably because of it . I was also very good at Maths, English, Geography yet wasn't encouraged to flourish as was always being punished or rebelling.
Feel for you mate !

Hello all,
How are you today?
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), burnout is characterised by "a feeling of intense fatigue, loss of control and inability to achieve meaningful results at work".
We all have periods when we feel stressed. But when this state of stress is prolonged, it can lead to burnout.
Signs of burnout include: exhaustion, lack of enthusiasm at work, reduced work productivity or performance, worry and anxiety, sleep problems, and more.
What about you? Have you ever experienced burnout? What were the symptoms that let you know something was wrong? How did you overcome the situation?
Feel free to share and exchange in the comments below!
Take care,
Courtney
