I'm 65 and have asthma and bronchiectasis. My husband is 72 and has a heart condition. In previous years we had our flu jabs together at our usual GP practice. We would phone the surgery and make an appointment. This year however it was the "new" system. Letters would be sent out from the health board to people who were eligible for the flu jab. I received my letter several weeks ago and had my my flu jab on Sunday 11th October. I had to go to a (fairly) local health centre instead of my usual GP practice.
My husband has still not been contacted about his flu jab. We live in the same house so I didn't understand why. I have since learned they are splitting people into various age groups. Our group is 65 years of age and upwards. The whole flu jab set up is a complete mess and has caused much more worry and upset for people. I include myself in this.
I really wish all the various politicians would set aside their differences for once instead of trying to score points off each other and disagreeing with people through the media. It most certainly doesn't inspire public confidence in politicians regardless of which political party they belong to. Like many people, my mental health has also deteriorated bady during this pandemic.
It's always easier in hindsight to see what was/is wrong with government strategy in dealing with the pandemic. I can only hope they learn from their mistakes, be more proactive and find better ways to deal with all of this instead of the present chaos.
Sorry for the rant, it's just so frustrating.

@Martachris I agree with you, this new system I think has good intentions at its heart, but it's not efficient. I'm in the same situation, My husband received his letter to go to a centre and not to our usual GP and I haven't received mine yet. It's very confusing.
I do still intend to get my flu jab though, just waiting on my letter!
