Thanks Gilda for sharing the above wonderful information! Regardless what illness, problem(s), any of us have, think it is always so healthy to share with one another because it helps remind us all that no one is truly alone in experiencing some pretty daily, frustrating signs and symptoms but as John Louis said above - one of the most important things we all need to do is to keep "fighting" and keep as positive as we can................I really do believe "the mind is stronger than the body" and I am certainly becoming more and more determined as my MS is becoming increasingly problematic, symptomatic and so interferes with my daily life, keep finding more ways to try to combat this!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like yourself, being almost 64 yrs old in the next few months, eternally grateful that my MS only started to seriously interfere with everything I do about 8 years ago, therefore have been able to lead the majority of my life with a good quality of life. Even now, perhaps due to my condition changing on an almost hourly basis for the past 2 yrs, find I am learning new things, having new positive experiences daily............it is certainly an interesting journey and don't think I would changer this for the world!
I would like to take this opportunity to wish, Gilda, yourself and your family and every single member in this online community a very Happy Valentines Day tomorrow, especially the "younger" members who have not been as fortunate as us "older" ones if +/or when they have not been able to experience the relatively more "healthy" years that some of us have had. So happy to have "found" this community and feel/hope we will all grow stronger and wiser and be able to more fully and positively embrace each day we have. x

Discover how a condition bonded even more this French family. Jean-Louis is a Carenity Fr member, he has leukemia and type 2 diabetes and his wife Martine takes care of him, and they tell us their story.
Hello! Could you present yourself in some lines?
We have been retired for five years, and we live in a small and calm house.
Me, I suffer from leukemia and type 2 diabetes. Luckily my wife doesn’t suffer from any condition.
How long have you’ve been married?
We have been married since December 29, 1973 and we have never been separated from each other for more than 8 days, we are really good together, and the fact that now we are retired is an extra joy for us.
The moments when I am without my better half is just twice a week when I go out to ride my bike, and also when my wife goes out shopping.
Even after 42 years of marriage, how do you stay united in spite of the disease?
The disease unites us even more, my wife monitors/helps me, she manages all my appointments and my medicines; she takes her job very seriously.
According to you, is it easier to face the challenges of life when you are two?
For me it is easier to fight for two, indeed for three, I fight for me, my wife and also for my son. I know that they are worried and troubled for me.
What can we wish for you on this Valentine’s Day?
You can wish me even more love and happiness, like in this moment, I wouldn’t change a thing.
Would you like to send a message to all of the Carenity members that are reading your interview?
I want to wish to all the Carenity members all the happiness. That they are able to enjoy every day’s joyful little moments like getting together with their family or friends; but most of all, to fight! Fight every day and have faith. Having a high moral is really important in the path to healing.
To help me in my battle I always look around and see that there are people suffering more than me, most of all young people. Me, I am 62 years old and I already had a lot of moments of happiness.
Good luck to you all and Happy Valentine’s Day!
